General Description: Dedicated in 1901, the Old Orange County Courthouse (formerly the Santa Ana Courthouse) was Orange County’s first courthouse and the location where many landmark decisions affecting area residents were made. Inside this Roman-style building (which is now both a state and national historic place) is a museum dedicated to the courthouse’s history, The Orange County Archives, and the library headquarters of The Pacific Coast Archeological Society. The Courthouse Museum also features a rotating schedule of exhibits relating to Orange County and Southern California history.
Admission: Admission to the Old Orange County Courthouse and Museum is free of charge.
Hours: The Courthouse Museum is open Monday-Friday 9am-4pm; tours can be either self-guided or hosted, but reservations must be made in advance by calling.
