Location: On the south side of the land, directly in front of Space Mountain.
General Description: Attend an inventions award show where crazy inventor Wayne Szalinski showcases his new powerful shrinking machine. During a demonstration, Szalinski accidentally shrinks the audience, leading to a variety of adventures as he tries to grow the audience back to normal size.
Will’s Review: Nothing good can be said about this experience – I have tried to conjure up something – and the only positives to this attraction are: 1) the giant over-sized 3-D dog is pretty cute, 2) the effect of the theater being picked up is relatively entertaining, and 3) it is air-conditioned. Unless you or someone in your party is a major Rick Moranis fan (and I am doubtful that anyone still exists with a healthy obsession for the “Honey…” franchise after all of this time), this show should be avoided at all costs. There are much better things to be doing with your valuable Disneyland time. If you want to cool off in an indoor theater show I highly recommend making the short trek to Adventureland to visit “Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.” The Disneyland version of this attraction was merely installed in 1997 as a cheap, last-minute replacement for Michael Jackson’s “Captain E.O.”, a much more entertaining show. In addition, Disneyland’s “Honey…” attraction’s main focal point is to showcase a wide-range of special effects, all of which are executed with more grace and entertainment factor in California Adventure’s “Muppets 3-D” and “it’s tough to be a bug!” attractions.
Touring Tips: This attraction is never going to be busy except during peak holidays – even then, the only wait that usually exists is while the show is in progress, as there is only one theater. The theater inside is literally humongous, and will swallow up the entirety of the waiting area. If you are on your fifth day at the resort, it is 110 degrees out, and you are desperate for a cool place to sit and can’t stand one more round of Small World, then we highly recommend this attraction.
Family Info: Young children will be delighted by the special effects and at the very most, adults will enjoy a chance to sit. This attraction is also good for disabled guests and seniors, as it is completely accessible.
Variations: In addition to Anaheim, this attraction is found in Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris, in the Imagination! Pavilion in Future World at Epcot, and in Tokyo Disneyland under the name MicroAdventure!
