Welcome to CaliforniaGuideBook.com! With a slight degree of modesty, we are proudly the largest and most comprehensive California travel and travel-related news site on the internet. We are also the largest in any printed form, including books. One of the benefits of using our online guide is that we are able to update instantly – far faster than most sites not dedicated to California travel news and certainly faster than traditionally-published guidebooks (not that we have anything against them).

The genesis idea for California GuideBook came about in 2007 upon the simple realization that there was no complete Southern California travel guide on the internet. Sure, there were many websites that gave a paragraph or two here and there, and many others that covered (somewhat dated) information on The Disneyland Resort. But what about California’s other major theme parks? What about the variety of cultural, recreational, and athletic activities that can be found from San Diego to Los Angeles? For the most part these weren’t covered. When they were covered, the information we found was often spread about the internet in some hard to find places and was sometimes sorely dated.

To correct this, we decided to create a site that was comprehensive, intuitive, and cohesive. We cover every single attraction, shop, and restaurant in every major Southern California theme park (Disneyland Park, Disney’s California Adventure, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios Hollywood, Six Flags Magic Mountain, SeaWorld San Diego, Legoland California, San Diego Zoo, and The San Diego Wild Animal Park); no other site in existence – nor any guidebook – does this. In addition, we cover various points of interests in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. We also cover entertainment and even current events in the local areas.

In addition to being all of this, we are also a news site. We tell you what’s new and happening in each theme park and across Southern California, as well as news (no gossip or rumors) about your favorite places. Did Disneyland just announce a new attraction? Did The Getty just open a new gallery? Did a new 5-star hotel just open near downtown Los Angeles? We’ll tell you.
